The USI Sales Professional Mentoring Program is designed to accelerate the growth, confidence, and performance of our sales professionals-supporting individual development while strengthening our ability to deliver exceptional client value.
This program is designed for Sales professionals such as Producers and Sales Marketing team members who play a vital role in delivering exceptional service, building trusted client relationships, and driving new business growth and long-term success across USI. Select Sales professionals must have at least 3 months of tenure with USI to be eligible for a mentor. All other sales professionals must have at least 6 months of tenure before becoming eligible.Through trusted mentoring relationships, producers gain access to real-world insights, business development strategies, and the lived experience of seasoned colleagues. Mentoring at USI helps producers expand their sales capabilities, navigate the challenges of a competitive marketplace, and build the resilience needed for long-term success.
Just as we provide tailored solutions to clients, we offer a customized development experience for our team members—shaping mentoring conversations around each producer’s goals, strengths, and career aspirations.
This six-month program creates structured opportunities for mentors and mentees to meet 1–2 times per month, fostering consistent connection, accountability, and skill development.
Participants Will Explore Key Development Areas
1. Sales Excellence & Consultative Client Strategy
Build the ability to uncover client needs, deliver insight-driven recommendations, and position USI’s value proposition with confidence. Strengthen skills in discovery, solutioning, and relationship-based selling.
2. Communication, Influence & Executive Presence
Enhance clarity, confidence, and professionalism across all communication channels. Develop persuasive storytelling, negotiation strategies, and the ability to engage high-level decision-makers.
3. Business Acumen & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Deepen understanding of USI’s business model, financial drivers, and how the broader organization supports client success. Strengthen collaboration with Account Operations, analysts, and carrier partners to deliver unified solutions.
4. Pipeline Development, Resilience & Performance Discipline
Learn to build and sustain a healthy pipeline, manage setbacks with resilience, and maintain focus during periods of change, rejection, or uncertainty. Develop habits that support long-term, sustainable sales performance.
Through Mentoring, Participants Will:
